despite my super busy schedule, i decided to enter this entry.
today after work, routinely, i took the bus from changi naval base to tanah merah station then to bedok station. when i was walking towards the bus interchange, i heard a weak voice calling "boy come here". i turned around and took a glance and saw this man in the wheelchair. i wasn't sure if he was calling anyone, so i turned away until i heard him calling again. when i looked at him, i saw him waving at me asking me to go over. very shocked. i walked towards him. he asked me if i can help him. then he asked if i can push him to the toilet at the mrt station. at that moment, i was really shocked for some reason, but of course i agreed. so after that which pushing him back from the toilet, he asked if i was rushing for time, i said no. and he humbly asked if i can push him to the hawker center and help him buy dinner. i bought him dinner, and then rushed home.
it was quite an abrupt goodbye, but he was really thanking me so much. at that moment, something really hit me quite hard. a simple act for an able-bodied young man like me could actually mean so much to those who are less fortunate.
that was the most meaningful 30 minutes of my life. i have a vision for tomorrow.
